Crinklechips Peerless music from a peerless band. I’d all but stopped listening to classic prog rock until I discovered Big Big Train with the release of Underfall Yard. What an amazing band. Favorite track: Skylon.

Alrihkh A very solid and melodic album that is easy to unwind to. The compositions are full and harmonic, and the longer tracks sport some wonderfully pleasant and whimsical instrumental sections. Some of the tracks frolic their way into smooth jazz territory. A BBTHX to BBT for another pleasing album. This music is great for chilling out to and as background ambience for casual dining. 8.5/10. Favorite track: London Plane sequence.

The Second Brightest Star is a companion album to the Folklore (2016) and Grimspound (2017) releases. The Second Brightest Star features over 40 minutes of new songs and instrumentals alongside music from the Folklore and Grimspound albums presented in extended formats. With the exception of Brooklands and London Plane which were recorded at 24/48 and have therefore been up-sampled for this release to 24/96, all audio is at studio master 24/96 hi-resolution. The Bandcamp download includes a complimentary PDF of the album booklet including lyrics and the stories behind the songs.

Because it is the most exquisitely seventies prog rock influenced music I have yet heard - the mix of Yes/Genesis with some King Crimson thrown in is, at times, overwhelming. (And, as a sixty year old man, the reference to Trumpton/Camberwick Green is more than welcome!) vicar888
